Fruit tree ID please

Three years ago, Bea Marshall planted the pip of a fruit she had never had before. It grew, and has survived Sheffield's winters, but she doesn't know what it is.

  1. It's difficult to tell from the picture, but it might be a laurel of some kind? Was it from fruit she's eaten (I don't think laurels are edible). Probably easier if we had the fruit description?

  2. Just been looking around and I think Bella's right. The leaves look Paw paw ish.

  3. Hi guys! It's definitely from a fruit I ate and the fruit had one singular seed - more of a stone actually. But nowhere near as big as an avocado stone.

I don't feel like I've eaten paw paw but I shall go and check it out on google and see if the fruit looks familiar!

    Thank you :)

  4. The leaves look closer to a Rambutan to me.

If it was a single seed that doesn't sound like paw paw. The leaves in these photos appear broader, puffier and lighter than I recall for a mango or lychee (each of which does have a single large seed) but perhaps the causes of damage and puffing have also caused discolouration.

    Could you describe the fruit?
